What support workers cost on the NDIS

Common questions about support workers in Sydney

Are all the support workers listed here NDIS registered?

Yes. Every listing on this page comes from the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission's register of registered providers. Registration means the provider has met the Commission's requirements; it is not an endorsement by CareLocate.

How do I find a support worker in Sydney who is taking new clients?

Use the "accepting clients" filter on search. Providers tell us themselves whether they have capacity, and where a listing shows a date, that is when they last confirmed it. A listing with no date has not answered, so no assumption should be made either way.

Does CareLocate cost anything to use?

No. Searching CareLocate and contacting a provider are free for participants, families and support coordinators. Providers can pay for a subscription, but placement in results is never sold: results are ordered by featured status, then whether a listing is claimed, then distance.

How much does a support worker cost on the NDIS?

The NDIS sets a maximum price, and providers cannot charge NDIA-managed or plan-managed participants more than it. Under the NDIS Pricing Schedule 2026-27, effective 24 September 2026, the national maximum is $73.58 per hour for assistance with self-care, weekday daytime; $103.54 per hour for assistance with self-care, Saturday; $163.46 per hour for assistance with self-care, public holiday; $73.58 per hour for community, social and recreational activities, weekday daytime. Higher maximums apply in remote and very remote areas. Providers can charge less, so it is worth asking.

Can I contact a support worker directly?

Yes. Each provider's page shows their phone number and website where the Commission or the provider has published them, and you can send an enquiry through CareLocate if you would rather they came back to you.
