NDIS price limits explained — what providers can charge

Last updated: June 2026

What NDIS price limits are, the 2025–26 rates for common supports, and what to do if a provider charges more than the limit.

What price limits are

NDIS price limits (formerly called the price guide) set the maximum hourly rates that NDIS-registered providers can charge for supports. They're set by the NDIA and updated each financial year.

  • Price limits are maximums — not fixed rates. Providers can charge less.
  • Only apply to registered providers. Unregistered providers can charge what they like (more on that below).
  • Higher rates apply on weekends and public holidays.
  • The full Pricing Arrangements and Price Limits document is published at ndis.gov.au each July.

2025–26 key rates

What to do if overcharged

  • Ask the provider for the NDIS support item number on the invoice — this lets you check the rate in the price guide
  • Compare their rate to the current NDIS pricing document at ndis.gov.au
  • Raise it with your plan manager — they should be checking this before paying invoices
  • Contact the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission: 1800 035 544 or ndiscommission.gov.au
  • Contact the NDIA directly: 1800 800 110

Do unregistered providers follow price limits?

No — price limits only apply to NDIS-registered providers. Unregistered providers can set their own rates.

  • If you are agency-managed, you must use registered providers — price limits apply
  • If you are plan-managed, you can use unregistered providers — no price limit applies, but your plan manager should still flag anything unreasonable
  • If you are self-managed, you can use anyone at any price — you take on the responsibility of assessing value for money
